Saratoga Springs, NY – Sustainable Saratoga is celebrating Earth Month this April with several events designed to engage the local community and advance sustainable practices throughout the Capital Region.

On April 13th, Sustainable Saratoga is teaming up with Skidmore College for the Saratoga Sustainability Fair held at the Skidmore Case Center from 10am-3pm. Attendees will be able to explore the latest in eco-friendly rides at the Electric Vehicle Show, discover green innovations in the exhibit hall, engage with experts in panel discussions, and let the kids dive into fun and learning throughout the day. Admission is FREE.

April 20th will mark Sustainable Saratoga’s 4th annual Earth Day Team Up to Clean Up event. This litter clean-up activity will be held Saturday, April 20th, from 10am-12pm at various locations in and around Saratoga Springs. Interested volunteers should e-mail zerowaste@sustainablesaratoga.org. Sustainable Saratoga will provide gloves, vests and garbage bags needed to complete the clean-up task.

On April 27th, Sustainable Saratoga will host Tree Toga, an Urban Forestry Project designed to plant the next generation of trees in Saratoga Springs. Volunteers will meet at Pitney Meadows Community Farm at 9:30am to learn the art of bare-root tree planting. Then, armed with the expert guidance of Lead Planters, teams scatter citywide to plant an estimated 35 large-growing
shade trees.

Sustainable Saratoga is active year-round, and these events in April during Earth Month help garner additional community involvement while sustainable practices are top-of-mind for residents. “Our staff and volunteers are incredibly talented and committed” said Amy Durland, Board Chair for Sustainable Saratoga. “The citizens in the Saratoga area have been so responsive to our wide-ranging efforts. It’s nothing short of inspiring!” For more information and to get involved in these community events, sign up at https://sustainablesaratoga.org/
