ADVOCACY ISSUES – UDO UPDATE!
(updates & action items that need your support)
Update on the UDO: On Tuesday, May 4, the Saratoga Springs City Council voted 4-1 (with Commissioner Dalton voting no) to proceed with the formal review of the proposed zoning ordinance (the UDO). Some Commissioners expressed reservations about the current version of the document but felt that the UDO was sufficiently ready for the formal review process to begin.
While we hoped for a different outcome, there are still opportunities to change the UDO before the final City Council vote, likely in the summer or fall. We remain committed to advocating for additional sustainability provisions and compliance with the Comprehensive Plan’s vision for the City. We will keep you updated on the status of the UDO as well as our advocacy efforts.
Thank you to everyone who emailed and called the City Council members and asked them to support a delay in the review process.
Here is the letter Sustainable Saratoga sent to the Council urging them to reject formal review of the UDO.
