ADVOCACY ISSUES – UDO UPDATE!

(updates & action items that need your support)

Update on the UDO: On Tuesday, May 4, the Saratoga Springs City Council voted 4-1 (with Commissioner Dalton voting no) to proceed with the formal review of the proposed zoning ordinance (the UDO).
On May 20, we submitted comments to the Planning Board and the Design Review Commission, outlying where we believe the UDO is inconsistent with the Comprehensive Plan.
We submitted additional comments to the Design Review Commission and the Planning Board in June, including a list of 12 priority amendments that we feel must be included in the final UDO and a document summarizing the key concepts of the Comprehensive Plan as it relates to the Greenbelt and rural character.
We remain committed to advocating for additional sustainability provisions and compliance with the Comprehensive Plan’s vision for the City.
We will continue to keep you updated on the status of the UDO as well as our advocacy efforts.
You can find an updated list of our advocacy actions relating to the UDO on our Land Use webpage, under the heading Land Use Regulations & Development Codes.
