This Earth Day, hundreds of communities around the world are hosting Marches for Science to highlight the valuable public service role science plays in society and policy and to demonstrate the deep public support for science.
Skidmore College’s Environmental Action Club is organizing a satellite March for Science event in Saratoga Springs that will feature speakers and support the scientific community. The event begins at 11:00 in Congress Park; please try to arrive early with signs and enthusiasm!
If you haven’t already heard about this global movement, here is the March for Science’s official Mission Statement:
The March for Science champions robustly funded and publicly communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good and for political leaders and policy makers to enact evidence based policies in the public interest. We will be focusing on the positive recent scientific achievements that we are looking to protect for our future.
