Sustainable Saratoga and Skidmore College team up for the Saratoga Sustainability Fair on Saturday, April 13

Sustainable Saratoga and Skidmore College are partnering once again to host the Saratoga Sustainability Fair on Saturday April 13th, 2024, from 10am-3pm at the Skidmore Case Center. This FREE family friendly event will allow attendees to explore the latest in eco-friendly topics and innovations and gives kids the opportunity to dive into fun and learning all day.

Highlights of the 2024 Saratoga Sustainability Fair include:

• Pre-fair Campus Bike Ride from 9-10am hosted by Adirondack Ultra Cycling.
• Riders can bring their own bikes or grab a CDPHP pedal or e-bike share on campus.
• Electric car and e-bike show as part of the City of Saratoga Springs’ NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities Campaign
• Kids zone with fun activities for kids of all ages from 10am-12pm
• Workshops and panel discussions on important sustainability topics including regenerative agriculture and the impact of plastics
• Food vendors
• Exhibit Hall featuring businesses and nonprofits in energy, climate, equity, environmental education, and more

Kelsey Trudell, Executive Director of Sustainable Saratoga says about the ongoing partnership, “We are so excited to co-host the Sustainability Fair again with Skidmore College. It’s going to be a great event to build community around local sustainability initiatives!”

Attendees are encouraged to be climate smart and ride a bike or take public transportation to the event. The 452 CDTA bus runs from Wilton Mall, through Saratoga Springs, and stops right at the Fair. Sustainable Saratoga and Skidmore College Seek 2024 Sustainability Fair Exhibitors

Saratoga Springs, NY – Sustainable Saratoga and Skidmore College invite sustainability-minded for-profit businesses and non-profit community organizations to apply to be exhibitors at the third annual Saratoga Sustainability Fair.

Kelsey Trudell, Sustainable Saratoga’s Executive Director, explains “The Saratoga Sustainability Fair is an exciting opportunity for community members to discuss sustainability, connect with local sustainable businesses and organizations, and learn about innovative climate solutions and ways to get involved. Planning is underway for the 2024 Sustainability Fair and we have now opened the call for vendors to table in the exhibit hall.”

Saratoga Sustainability Fair delivered information and hands-on learning to an eager audience

The Saratoga Sustainability Fair buzzed with energy on April 16. Over 350 attendees explored the exhibit hall and engaged with organizations representing all aspects of sustainability, including land and wildlife conservation, green energy and transportation, zero waste, and environmental justice. Visitors to the EV Car Show learned about various models from owners and dealers, and young eco-warriors got their hands dirty in the Kids’ Cove. Repair Café guests and coaches worked to fix items including lamps, small appliances, clothing, jewelry and computers. Kelsey Trudell, Sustainable Saratoga’s Executive Director, was “overjoyed with the attendance at the Sustainability Fair. The positive feedback was encouraging and we are already looking forward to next year’s event!”

Jen Natyzak, Assistant Director for Sustainability Programs summed it up: “The keynote from Jen Kretzer and Elodie Linck of the Wild Center provided a pathway to make a climate action plan, and the workshops and exhibitors demonstrated how climate action takes many forms, as repair café’s, community organizing, land conservation, policy, and so much more. Thank you to the 30+ organizations and businesses who made this event possible and powerful!”
